I couldn&#8217;t be happier! Now we can really get down to some serious baking and comfort food. This post combines a little bit of both.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m really excited about this post. I had so much fun making this dinner. It&#8217;s a perfectly hearty fall meal that is great for feeding a crowd.<\/p>\n<p>So what&#8217;s on the menu? &#8216;Pizza&#8217; Lasagna with a side of freshly baked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/recipes\/garlic-herb-breadsticks\/\">Garlic &amp; Herb Breadsticks<\/a>. YUM.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s get started!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you will need (lasagna):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 bag <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bridgfordfoods.com\/products\/sliced-pepperoni\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bridgford Sliced Pepperoni<\/a>, 5 oz.<\/li>\n<li>1 package Italian sausage of choice, 16 oz.<\/li>\n<li>1 small can black olives, sliced<\/li>\n<li>1 block fresh mozzarella cheese, 12 oz.<\/li>\n<li>1 container ricotta cheese of choice, 30 oz.<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated<\/li>\n<li>1 jar marinara sauce of choice<\/li>\n<li>1 box lasagna noodles<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon dried basil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What you will need (breadsticks):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 package <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/where-to-buy\/\">Bridgford Parkerhouse Style Roll Dough<\/a>, 6 rolls<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon melted butter<\/li>\n<li>1 garlic clove, minced<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons olive oil<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon dried thyme<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon dried basil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Before you start your lasagna, prep your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/where-to-buy\/\">Parkerhouse Rolls<\/a>. Place your desired number of rolls on a nonstick cookie sheet, I made 6, about 2 inches apart. Brush the tops with a small amount of melted butter and let them thaw for 1 to 2 hours.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2244\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/lasagna-ingredients-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"367\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Get your &#8220;pizza toppings&#8221; ready. Grate your entire block of fresh mozzarella and drain and rinse your black olives, set aside.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2245\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/ricotta-egg-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"367\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Place ricotta cheese, 1 egg, salt, pepper, and a little sprinkle of dried basil in a medium size bowl.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2246\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/ricotta-mixed-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"367\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mix thoroughly, set aside. I used part-skim ricotta. You are more than welcome to use whole milk. Whatever your preference!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2247\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/sausage-in-pan-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"276\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Coat the bottom of a large pan with olive oil. Remove your Italian sausage from the casing completely. Cook on high heat.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2248\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/sausage-and-sauce-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"368\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When there is little to no pink left, add your jar of marinara sauce to the sausage.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2249\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/sausage-and-sauce-2-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"367\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Stir and let simmer, reducing your heat to low.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/noodles-in-water-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"368\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Bring a large pot of water to a boil. It is probably best to do this while you&#8217;re sausage is cooking. Add a small amount of olive oil to your water so the noodles do not stick. I cooked the entire box, but had about 6 pieces left over, so keep that in mind! The instructions on the box say to boil for 7 minutes. You don&#8217;t want them to be mushy, since they will finish cooking in the oven later. Drain and set aside.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2251\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/sauce-in-pan-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"273\" height=\"366\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Time to start layering! Add a small amount of your sauce to the bottom of a 9 x 13 lasagna pan, spread evenly.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2257\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/repeat-layer-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"367\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Add one layer of noodles&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2253\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/layer-1-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"273\" height=\"366\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ricotta mixture&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2254\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/layer-2-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"273\" height=\"366\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sauce with yummy sausage&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2255\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/layer-3-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"272\" height=\"364\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pepperoni and black olives&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2256\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/layer-4-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"272\" height=\"364\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Last, but certainly not least, mozzarella cheese.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2257\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/repeat-layer-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"273\" height=\"366\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Repeat layering until you reach the top of your pan. Approx. 3 layers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2258\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/panned-lasagna-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"273\" height=\"366\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For the top layer, sprinkle the rest of your mozzarella and 1\/2 cup Parmesan. Then add remaining pepperoni and black olives on top. Doesn&#8217;t it it look like a pizza? Bake at 350\u00b0 F for 25 to 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2259\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/finished-lasagna-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"273\" height=\"366\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Look at that! Comfort food at its finest.\u00a0Okay, back to the breadsticks&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2260\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/parkerhouse-on-flour-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"362\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Place your thawed Parkerhouse Rolls on a clean, floured surface.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2261\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/parkerhouse-rolled-into-sticks-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"367\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lightly coat each side with flour and form them into sticks. You don&#8217;t even need a rolling pin! Just use your hands. Arrange them on a nonstick cookie sheet, 2 to 3 inches apart.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2262\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/infused-oil-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"276\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In a small pan heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil, minced garlic, dried thyme, and basil, for about 2 minutes. You do not want to cook it for a long period of time, just enough to infuse the oil. Brush a generous amount over each of your breadsticks. Let them rise until double in size, which should take about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2263\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/breadsticks-dough-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"276\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Bake at 425\u00b0 F for 7 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2264\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/finished-breadsticks-on-pan-448x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"272\" height=\"364\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These smell heavenly while baking. You&#8217;re in for a treat!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2265\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/finished-breadsticks-463x6001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"356\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Time to serve up some hearty comfort food to your friends and family! Or if you&#8217;re only cooking for a few, you will have leftovers for a few days.
