So, I thought it would be fun to showcase this popular holiday recipe for you, breaking it down step-by-step.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s get started!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you will need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 loaf <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/where-to-buy\/\">Bridgford Frozen Ready-Dough\u00ae<\/a>\u00a0(yield, 4 pretzels)<\/li>\n<li>Egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 tbsp water)<\/li>\n<li>Turbinado or crystallized sugar (for sweet pretzels) or kosher salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/sf-pretzels-15.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Thaw your loaf of Ready-Dough using the microwave thawing instructions. Place it onto a clean and lightly floured surface. Dust flour on all sides.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/sf-pretzels-21.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"302\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Separate the loaf into 8 equal pieces.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/sf-pretzels-31.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"259\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then, cut each of these 8 pieces in half (16 pieces).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/sf-pretzels-41.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You will need 4 of these 16 pieces for one pretzel.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/sf-pretzels-51.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"288\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With your hands, roll each dough piece into approx. 4 inch ropes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/sf-pretzels-71.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"263\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cut one of these ropes into 12 equal pieces.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/sf-pretzels-81.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Assemble each pretzel on a lightly greased cookie sheet, or lined with parchment paper. I actually used two cookie sheets with two pretzels on each, just to be sure they had enough room to rise. Take two of your ropes and make an X shape.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/sf-pretzels-101.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"276\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Place the remaining rope down the middle to make a star shape. Using the palm of your hand, press this center piece down, so each of the pieces weld together.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgford.com\/bread\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/sf-pretzels-111.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"254\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At each point of the star, arrange the 12 tiny pieces of dough you cut earlier (two on each side).
