1 loaf | Bridgford Frozen Ready-Dough®, thawed |
1 pkg (10 oz) | frozen spinach, thawed and drained |
1 | egg |
3 oz (¾ cup) | Romano cheese, freshly grated |
¼ tsp | salt |
1 tbsp | flour |
olive or vegetable oil |
Grease a large baking sheet; set aside. While loaf of dough is thawing, make filling. In a medium size bowl, combine spinach, egg, Romano, salt, and flour. Mix well; set aside. Divide thawed loaf into 10 equal slices. Place approximately 1/2 cup of oil on a large plate or on a work surface. Press one slice of dough into the oil. Thoroughly coat each side. Keep pressing the dough until it forms into a circle measuring 4-5 inches in diameter (the dough will be thin). Place approximately 1-2 tablespoons of spinach filling on center of dough round. Fold ends of dough over and seal seams. Place filled dough, seam side down on baking sheet. Repeat with remaining slices of dough. Use more oil if needed. Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven to cool on wire rack.
