Christmas Tree Coffee Cake

1 loaf Bridgford Frozen Ready-Dough®, thawed
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp melted butter or margarine
1-2 tbsp water or milk
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp regular vanilla pudding mix (not instant)
Red and green candies for decorating

Cut off a small piece for the trunk. Set aside. On a lightly floured surface, roll large portion of thawed dough into a circle ¼ inch think. Spread with melted butter, sugar and dry pudding mix. Bring three sides of the circle together and pinch edges to form a triangle. Invert on greased baking sheet, seam-side down. Cut slashes along two top sides approximately 1 inch aprt and 3-4 inches deep. Twist and open slices. Flatten trunk; tuck under base of tree. Brush tree with melted butter and sprinkle with an additional 1-2 tablespoons granulated sugar. Let rise until double in size. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and pan to cool on wire rack.
